The Bitch Is Back

MY PEOPLE!

Hey all, I'm back. And yes I know I've said that before but this time I mean it. How can you be sure? Why should you trust me after I have let you down time and time again? Simple. I bought a digital camera yesterday. FINALLY!

Now everyone that knows me knows that I am camera happy. I take other peoples cameras and snap like a mad fool. Now that I have one of my own there will be no stopping me.

So since I've written last so much has changed. I moved into a new place complete with a roommate and a cat. I cut off all my hair and went dark...or as Chris would say...I've turned emo. I got a new tattoo. And there is much more in the works, and you'll hear all about that as it happens.

And now, for the visuals.

This is Small Cat. Yes that is his name. He's Stacey's cat (my roommate) and he's a little shit. However, we have a very love hate relationship...as in we love to hate each other. We're growing on each other.
This is Stacey. We work together at VIHA and moved in together in August. She's pretty fantastic (and pretty pretty). here she is making a card for her boyfriend. She's cool like that.

This is our apartment. It's still not all together and we're planning on re-arranging the whole place in the next week or two. It's a basement suite below another co-worker of ours. Our landlords are great.

Proof that I have girlie things in my house. Like flowers. Well Stacey works at a florists so we usually have flowers around the house.

Hey look...it's me!

Well folks that all I have for now. But Halloween is around the corner, so I'm sure I'll have something to share.

And yes I missed you too ;)

One of those days

Okay so a few weeks ago I noticed that my vacuum wasn't working very well. I'd run it over obvious dirt and it would pick up some but leave most of it on the ground. Honestly being busy I left it, that is until it became CLEAR vacuuming needed to happen if I wanted to have any living soul in my home. I checked the brushroll but that was working so I figured I just needed to clean my filter. Sitting on the floor, a small garbage can between my legs, and the filter in my hands I used some tools to clear out all the dust lodged in the filter. I was resiliant...I did it for an hour...taking one smoke break and mostly watching Colin and Justin's Home Heist on HGTV. But when there was a commercial I was diligent.

I think took my time cleaning it up...one never thinks to clean the vaccum do we? So now the vacum is gleaming red and ready to rumble. This time I can feel the amount of air being sucked in...it sounded a thousand times better but still STILL it would not suck up the obvious dirt.

I took another smoke break, staring at my machine through the glass doors. In my head I thought of a million different options...ways I could take it apart and put it back together again. Heck I was even trying to think how I (a girl who can break anything) managed to wreck a perfectly nice upright hepa filter vacum with attached hose (and all those weird attachments that I don't know are used for)...had I managed to kill a vacuum only a year old?

So I sat down and started poking...thinking I'm missing something...but what? Finally giving up and I put my head in my hands and laughed. It was broken. And I've learned its best to laugh at the "bad" stuff. While laughing I look up and see a dial (a dial I don't think I knew was there) on the back of the vaccum...a dial that you turn between "Floor" and "Hose". What was the dial turned to?

Hose.

Since I have only used the hose suction on the vacuum a few times I'd forgotten it was there...and must have not changed it over the last time I used it.

I think "There is no way it could be that easy." but I turned the dial and started her up. HURRAH! Life!

So now my house is clean and I'm laughing at myself. I figured you could have a laugh too.

Because we have all been there...

...this guy is too funny for words. Yes it's just more YouTube videos...but it would have been wrong not to share. Note there is some swearing in these so maybe a little NSFW.

Wanted to share.

I am a girl...this means that I am moody. Okay not so much moody as emotional. Or maybe more of a feeler then others. Anyway sometimes I get in moods, or funks if you will. I find the only thing to get me out of it is a good cry and maybe some booze but always always music. For me beautiful music can make the darkest day seem so much brighter.

Wanted to share some that have given some light recently by simply making me think, smile or tap my foot along with it. Life is not bad...it just is. I find most of these by hearing a few lyrics in the backround of a tv show and then doing some google magic. Hope you enjoy.

Hope all is well.

And just for fun....

I have the same birthday as Joey. True story.

You think Spice Girls made big money...0h man...just you wait.

What girl could forget "Hanging Tough", "The Right Stuff" and "This One's For the Children". I'll never forget my New Kids PJ's, man I loved those things. I remember being so jealous of Deedee's NKOTB quilt....oh yeah...the skeleton's are out of the closet now. Seriously though, it'll be interesting to see what they do and how welcoming the fans around the world will be. I'm really just surprised they brought Danny back....was he anybody's favourite? I personally had a thing for Jonathan. Yeah I know.

If they go on tour I'll have to see if I can convince some people to go with me. The question is "Are you tough enough?"

Sincere.

Well hello all. Yes I know, it's like I fell off the face of the planet again. But no I am here, and alive.

It's been an interesting couple of months that's for sure. Work was nuts with end of year jobs, Christmas was chaos, then I turned the big 26 (don't remind me) and the world rang in 2008. After that I was sick, only to get sicker with some virus and a kidney infection. However Shauna is starting to feel human again. Therefore I thought I would share with everyone. Sure it took till February for me to update but I do what I can.

In my time illness I haven't been able to do much, watching lots of TV and playing around on the computer. Due to the writers strike there hasn't been much to watch other then my main men Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. Now I can't say that I'm a political person, I have my views no doubt, I like to be informed before I vote (and I always vote) but it's Canadian poltics. I think times would have to get a lot harder for us before anything drastic happens.

So last night when my friend Erin and I started talking about the state of the world. Naturally discussion turned to our evil twin brother to the south USA. I fear greatly I must say for the state of that nation and the ripple affect it's destruction of economy will have on other nations of this world. However after talking about it I decided to look into it and low and behold I read something that gave me a hint of hope that maybe Americans can turn their car around and head back to humanity. That is, if one man can truely be political and sincere at the same time.

I highly recommend checking out this link, a music video of supports of Barack Obama's inspired by his 'Yes We Can' speech. The speech can be read below. Happy Days!

It was a creed written into the founding documents that declared the destiny of a nation.
Yes we can.
It was whispered by slaves and abolitionists as they blazed a trail toward freedom.
Yes we can.
It was sung by immigrants as they struck out from distant shores and pioneers who pushed westward against an unforgiving wilderness.
Yes we can.
It was the call of workers who organized; women who reached for the ballots; a President who chose the moon as our new frontier; and a King who took us to the mountaintop and pointed the way to the Promised Land.
Yes we can to justice and equality.
Yes we can to opportunity and prosperity.
Yes we can heal this nation.
Yes we can repair this world.
Yes we can.
We know the battle ahead will be long, but always remember that no matter what obstacles stand in our way, nothing can stand in the way of the power of millions of voices calling for change. We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics...they will only grow louder and more dissonant . We've been asked to pause for a reality check. We've been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope. But in the unlikely story that is America, there has never been anything false about hope.
Now the hopes of the little girl who goes to a crumbling school in Dillon are the same as the dreams of the boy who learns on the streets of LA; we will remember that there is something happening in America; that we are not as divided as our politics suggests; that we are one people; we are one nation; and together, we will begin the next great chapter in the American story with three words that will ring from coast to coast; from sea to shining sea.
Yes. We. Can.
